Tumut Area

Great walks include Landers Falls Lookout WalkBlowering Cliffs Walking Track and Jounama Creek Walking Track.


Dating back up to two million years, the dramatic Yarrangobilly Caves are well worth exploring.


Have a dip in the nearby thermal spring waters where the water is a constant 27 degrees all year round.

Tumut River

The fishing is fantastic, with Australia’s highest peaks a magnificent backdrop. Pristine waters flow from melting snow caps in spring into crystal-clear streams and lakes teeming with trout. Blowering Dam and Talbingo Dam are also popular for fishing and boating.


Take a tour of the Tumut River Brewing Co. and taste delicious craft beers. Famous for apples, Batlow is home to one of Australia’s iconic ‘big things’ – the Big Apple. In the picking season from February to late May, browse fresh apples at farm gates and at roadside stalls outside orchards.
